Sunday 17th January 2010 Update

U11-U18 Training ON - U6-U10 Training Cancelled. Please check pitch plan on this site but also check whiteboard at club in case of changes. COACHES PLEASE rotate off ground if you are starting to cut up too much.

Sunday 17th January 2010 - Pitches

No Matches. We hope to have training for U11 to U18 age groups. The grounds are susceptible to flooding and still covered with snow. This will thaw to create more water, along with expected heavy rain this Saturday. Drax is out of bounds. Apologies to U6-U10 groups. U11 to U18 still in doubt so please check website on Sunday morning before coming to club and if on, there will be a pitch plan at the club. We will need to use the ground responsibly and train on zones, rotating if the ground is cutting up too much.

Snow game

Not all of WM&Y RFC was put off by the snowy conditions this Sunday. The brave under 13Bs took to the field as usual. true they opted not to wear the traditional shorts and parkas and ski suits were very much in evidence, but they did play rugby. Well a kind of rugby, tackles were counted by a successful snow ball hit and other rules were noticeable only be their absence.

Sunday 10th January 2010

All rugby cancelled. Enjoy the lie in!

Pitches Sunday 3rd January 2010

Pitches were inspected this morning and are very hard indeed. After further freezing tonight they will not be safe for matchplay tomorrow nor any form of contact rugby. However, the grounds should be good for Training and Fitness as long as it is non contact. Trainers may be more comfortable than boots. Please check again in the morning just in case but lets aim to all have a good run around and wake those kids up! Happy New Year Everyone!

Stop Press. Watch this space.

The pitches are a bit hard at the moment and we may have to call off our training/games this Sunday so watch this space for further details over the next few days.

Happy New Year

I'd like to wish you all a happy and successful 2010 especially, on the rugby pitch.
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and will be back this Sunday ready and raring to go.
Usual time of 10 o'clock Sunday although you might like to leave a bit early to allow time to tighten the studs on all those new boots Santa brought you all.
See you then.
