A perfect day for rugby.A gentle breeze,a sunny day and a firm pitch .At last for almost the first time all season we had just about our ideal back line to take advantage of the conditions. After a couple of starts in friendly games it was excellent to see Frank - a member of our Tiffin contingent -make his first start in a League match -and he was to make a telling contribution.
Members of Wimbledon Minis Under-9 age group had a treat on Sunday when they arrived for training to be told that they were going to be coached by Ben Ryan the England 7’s Head Coach. Ryan, a former Wimbledon College pupil and pictured here with the Wimbledon players, represented England at scrum-half at all age groups up to Under-21 level and now combines his role as the national team’s 7’s coach with that of the specialist coach to England’s leading scrum halves
Due to bad weather conditions, please watch the pitches page. Pitch Plan has been updated 13th Feb 2009 - Rugby is on for Sunday 15th Feb 09

Another Great Season
A Fun day that was even more fun than usual was held at the club last Sunday and marked the end of the mini's fixtures at least. It's not quite over as we still have a few events and league games to go but it did mark the end of another great season. The event itself proves how many committed volunteers we have, not least to organise the event and staff the stalls etc and our results at the various Surrey festivals and in the leagues have proved once again we are a force to be reckoned with.
The youth teams will celebrate their end of season over the coming weeks. The under 18s have already done so after a pretty successful last season including a famous win against top of the table L Irish. This team, that grew from the ashes of a much weakened UI4 a few years ago, have gone from strength to strength and become proper club members with a positive attitude that should be an inspiration to all. Well done to them and lets hope we see a lot of them still at the club next season.
This year the Men's first team joined in the winning ways and won promotion to London 1 South, after a convincing play off win last Saturday which is really great. join them for their celebration ball on the 15th (see below).
Watch this space for news of the AGM and how you can get involved. Touch rugby for coaches (and some youth groups)continues through the summer and you can find news about coaching courses at the club elsewhere on the site, but for now you can dust off the barbys and enjoy the Sunday lie in.
Come and watch Six Nations Rugby at Barham Road and enjoy the atmosphere in the bar.

A big thank you to all the clubs who attended our festival. As ever the day went well, the sun shone and the boys played some fantastic rugby. Well done all especially the small army of volunteers who made it happen so seamlessly.
See you all next year.
