HAPPY EASTER

Hello Everyone, I hope you're all enjoying the Easter Break and had a nice lie in this Sunday.
Easy on the chocolate though as we have some big games coming up. We are all expecting big things both from the Surrey Mini competitions and with some good league positions as the youth teams finish their fixtures.

It's been a busy few weeks at the club with a number of events and parties, not least of these being the game and party to celebrate myself & Steph surviving 50 years and an untold amount of games of rugby. A fun time was had by all but hopefully everyone has recovered now. Thanks to all those who joined in and made it such a great evening.

There is more fun to come of course as this year we have our very own May ball to look forward to. If you came 2 years ago you will know what a fantastic event this is and will no doubt already have bought your tickets. if you haven't been before your in for a treat but you better get your tickets now, as despite booking an even bigger marquee this year there will be a huge demand for this famous evening so you better get a move on.

Sunday 7th March 2010

Pitches are recovering well but 2nd Team Pitch is still out of bounds. Minis A Teams are at Guildford Festival and B teams at Mitcham
(except U12s). Please see pitch plan and note that U13b are playing bottom pitch on Drax

Sunday 28th February 2010 - All Rugby at Wimbledon Cancelled

All rugby at Wimbledon from U6 through to U18 is cancelled for this coming Sunday 28th Feb due to the poor condition of the pitches. They were poor last Sunday and we have had a lot of rain since. There is more rain expected today and over the weekend, especially on Sunday. We are lucky in that there are no home fixtures to cancel and it makes the most sense to preserve what we have got for the rest of the season. Training on these grounds, when so wet, can create a great deal of harm.

Sunday Lunch at WMRFC

Mick is now offering Sunday Lunch at the club house starting Sunday 28th February.

If you are interested, please contact Jane, minis@wmrfc.co.uk

Prices:
£6.00 for adults
£4.00 for Kids

As of Saturday afternoon all 3 main pitches were playable; so all Youth matches are scheduled to go ahead on Sunday morning. Each age group/referees will be responsible for final decision on pitch condition, depending on weather conditions during Saturday night.

Minis and Youth training also ok to go ahead.

Sunday 21st February 2010 - PITCHES

Pitches are currently in poor shape following extensive periods of rain this week. Standby for Updates with final position regarding Youth matches being posted by 9.30am on Sunday morning

Valentines Day Special

A good turn out today despite it being the first weekend of half term and Valentines day to boot. The u12s put on a good show against a visiting London Irish side and the U16s kept the youth 1st team on their toes in a spirited training game. The rest of the club trained hard as well and were rewarded at the end of the session with some special valentines day sweeties courtesy of our mini's chair Jane. As we pride ourself on being a nice club to be at I suppose celebrating the day this way is a good thing and will promote a loving atmosphere in the club, but i'm keeping the u18 forwards on their raw meat diet until we've won the league. (Not that im suggesting thats what you'd ever get from our ever faithful Steve on the barbecue).
Normal service will no doubt be resumed next week, see you all then.

Sunday 14th February 2010

Pitches are all good - pls see pitchplan

Sunday 7th February 2010
