At the beginning of the season it can take a few weeks for kit to arrive... so this year we are running a try-on and ordering day this Saturday (28 July 2018) at the club to try and improve things. We'll be there 10am to 1pm.
Our kit people - Akuma - are sending through a set of sample clothing so you can try on before you order for the season ahead. Avoid the issues with ordering online! We will have order forms for each age group and then ask for either cheque on the day or they can transfer to club account.
General kit info is here: http://wmrfc.co.uk/kit
Browse the range here: https://www.akumasports.com/wimbledon/
Try all your old kit on and bring along any second hand kit for the club to sell at the start of the season (clean please!). All funds raised from second hand kit sales go back to the club.

So at last, the season draws to a close. Hope everyone has had lots of fun. Youth are all away, other than U12s who are hosting the Italian team Petrarca Rugby (https://www.petrarcarugby.it/) - benvenuto!
The minis have their awards today. The plan for this is as below...
Presentations to start from 10am in the following order Inclusive, U6s, U7s, U8s, U9s
Each age group should gather, one at a time, on the lower patio (use the steps as a “stage”) for prize giving. Managers from each age group should keep an eye on progress and make sure their group is ready as soon as the previous one has finished. When not at presentations, each age group can be training.
Food served from 11:30: if Inclusive and U6s go at that time, the other age groups can then follow afterwards.
Rugby starts again 2nd September 2018. Have a lovely summer everyone.
Pitch plan
This event is still proceeding as advertised
For a few years now, Wimbledon RFC has run a successful Inclusive Rugby section for kids with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This Easter, the club, via its Wimbledon RFC in the Community initiative, and run by Zion Sports, are hosting a three-day multi-sport holiday camp for kids with SEN.
Inclusive, non-contact sport is a great way to get your child active. All our games are structured, with clear rules that build the kids' social, team, communication and motor skills.
Tues 3rd April to Thurs 5th April 2018, sessions run 9am to 12pm at Wimbledon RFC.
£115 for 3 days or £45 per day.

**update** All rugby cancelled tomorrow. Back next week; it'll be 14 degrees by then.
Update - this event is now unfortunately cancelled. Note that the Inclusive camp is however still running.
Please watch out for further updates.
Wimbledon RFC is, thanks to some generous donations, working with local schools developing their rugby offer and encouraging greater participation in sport. Known as Wimbledon RFC in the Community, and run by Zion Sports, we have asked them to run an Easter holiday rugby camp at Wimbledon RFC. It won't be your common or garden camp but will really concentrate on developing skills and being delivered in a fun and engaging way.
Game sense games • Drills for skills • Intro to rugby fitness • Developing teamwork • Conditioned games

Tom Rees, ex-England and Wasps rugby player turned medic, will be talking about the challenges he faced as a player and once his career was cut short by injury.
His is a story of triumph over adversity in which he shares his background, endeavours as a medical student, experiences of injuries and recovery and his thoughts on the challenges facing young players in the future.
Whether you are a young sportsman or woman (age 16+), the parent of a budding sports star, or just trying to stay fit yourself and play for as long as you can, don’t miss the opportunity to hear from someone who knows about life after rugby. More info here.

Apologies for late notice... should be a terrific day of rugby.
Warriors and Old Emanuel visiting minis plus 4 youth matches: 12s, 13s, 14s, 16s
Girls, 15s and 17s are away, Boys colts are training.
Before we get on to this week's unusually "village" pitch plan, please make sure you do NOT park on any of the roads around the club as they are private roads. If you arrive after 9.30 please park off Copse Hill as per the alternative parking areas shown on our parking policy...
Alternative parking places for WMRFC when on-site parking is full (in order of proximity)
1. Copse Hill between the A238 and Barham Road (park on either side).
2. Beverley Avenue there is a footpath at the end that leads to Hood Road. Walk up and turn into Preston
Road.
3. Burdett Avenue and Cottenham Park Road to the east of Copse Hill road this involves a five minute
walk
4. Oakwood Road there is a footpath at the top corner (Cottenham Park Road) that runs between the
allotments and the Oberon Field. Walk down to Burdett Avenue – approx. a 10 minute walk
Pitch plan (if you make any sense of this... well done!)
Sadly we have had to cancel the Wimbledon rugby festival this Sunday (and any other training due to take place).
Apologies to all.
