Tomorrow we are playing Richmond in a match to celebrate our first 150 years as a club.

Our numbers are depleted so it is really important that those that said that they can play turn up. If there are any problems please let me know asap. If anyone who was not available can now play then please let me know and turn up tomorrow (Saturday).

Can I just check something in respect of the 150th celebration match on 9th May. I have now been told that kick off is at 11.30. That being the case can everyone who has said that they can play now reconfirm their availability. I just want to check if school cricket fixtures are going to get in the way.

Cricket fixtures, injury and DoE have unfortunately got in the way of the Southend 10s festival. We could not raise a team for this so that it will not now go ahead. Thanks to those who said that they could make it.

I am just following up on a post of a few weeks ago. We are already planning fixtures/league games for next season. We would like to know which players are NOT involved in Rugby/Football matches on a Saturday for their school between September - December. This is all to do with player welfare so is quite important as it will enable us to structure the season based upon your feedback.

A great match today. Well done boys. This was a match the coaches really wanted us to win and the boys delivered. Thank you.

I thought it worth giving you a bit of an update on the rest of the season. The plan is as follows:

29 March - Weekend off - No training
5 April = Easter Sunday - no training
12 April - Sutton and Epsom - Friendly away
19 April - Cobham - league - away
26 April - Wimbledon Warriors - home
1 to 3 May - Southend 10s festival - away camping over night
9 May - WMRFC 150 years celebration with a match against Richmond - we lost against them in the league so want revenge

Please make a note of these in your diary. If any are definitely out please say so now. However, I am not asking for availability now EXCEPT for the Southend Festival. When I asked for expressions of interest at the start of the season I received responses which showed it was viable. I now need everyone to respond to confirm availability. We will be camping over night. Parents are encouraged to come and bond with their kids! I suspect we will end up with some kids tents and adults will then sort themselves out in the remaining tents. All very informal. Please can you let me know if (a) your son will be coming; and (b) if any adults (and if so) how many will come. We will sort out lifts for the boys if necessary. There is a charge of £5 per boy for the entrance fee and boys will need money for their food which they can buy where we are playing. Please respond now - don't leave it until later!

This Sunday there is the mini's A festival at the club. It will be very busy. We will still find a corner to train as we have a league game the following week. The arrangements will be start at 10 and finish at noon. Do not even think about being able to park at the club. We will be training in the far left hand corner as you look out from the clubhouse. I suggest you go directly to the pitch. Drop off either in Preston Road (the road which leads to the second car park) or drop off in Beverley Ave and walk through the footpath at the end of the road.

We are playing AWAY against Roslyn Park. KO is at noon and we will meet at 11.20 ready to play/warm up. There are no changing rooms so come in kit. We will play in Richmond Park on the pitches near Roehampton Gate.

If you do not know it, then the opposition say enter via Priory Lane into the Park. There is a car park to the left as you come in – it can be crowded so they sometimes park down a left hand lane just before you get into the park; this is a dead end and is usually parking available. It takes about as long to walk to the pitch from here as it does if you park in one of the Park car parks.

There is a café in the car park but there are no facilities in the Park, so arrive changed and raring to go. Spectators should wrap warm – there is no shelter from the elements.

There is also training tonight at 5pm at the clubhouse. All are welcome
