Sunday 4th September 2016: arrangements

This is where the fun starts!

IMPORTANT - NEW KIT: This Sunday (4th) ONLY there will be an opportunity to try on, and order new kit, as supplied by new kit supplier, Akuma. We are trying to get web portal set up to help in this process, but on Sunday there will be an opportunity to pay and order your kit. From then on, all orders will be centralised through your age group managers (or a.n.other as decided by your age group). Hopefully the web portal will be set up asap to stream line this process.

Pitch plan

Worth noting Sunday is currently scheduled for rain, but it will be hot and dry for the rest of this week. The grounds will be hard, so think about stud choices. Car parking is being marshalled by Under 11s.

Welcome to the new 2016-17 season

WELCOME BACK TO RUGBY!

A big welcome to the new season to all players new and old, as well as parents, coaches and the many volunteers that make this great club work so seamlessly. The club celebrated its 150th anniversary last season, and following the excitement of the Rugby 7s in the Olympics, we are looking forward to a hugely exciting 2016-17 season. If you want to find out how to join up and play at Wimbledon Rugby Club click here

Training is every Sunday from 4 September 2016 all the way through to late April 2017. 10am start (sharp!).

New season, new rules
A few changes have been made to the rules. Clubs and schools now have one unified set of regulations. Each age group page has a link to the relevant code. The full set of regulations on the England Rugby site are here.

Need kit?
We are thrilled to announce a new kit partnership with Akuma Rugby.

This is a new three year partnership for the whole club (from senior first XV to the under 6s) and will see everyone gradually transition over to the new kit. The designs are slightly different but there’s no requirement to change straight away.

IMPORTANT - NEW KIT: This Sunday (4th) ONLY there will be an opportunity to try on, and order new kit, as supplied by new kit supplier, Akuma. A-Plan competition and sponsorship news

Thank you to A-Plan Insurance (Wimbledon) who awarded John Woods, Volunteer of the Year and ran a Throwing target competition for the minis, to win a Harlequins signed ball & Twickenham stadium tour. If you didn’t get a chance to participate, they will be running another competition next season! The results are below (read if you’re interested to see how Justin, U50s did…)
How you can raise money for the club
A-Plan are donating £5 for every quote made and 25% of commission on ALL insurance policies taken out… so it’s worth just seeing if they can quote you a better price & ensure you’re fully covered!!
For those of you who don’t know A-Plan, they’re based at 52 Wimbledon Hill and they offer various different plans for Home, Travel, Life, Health, Pet, Marine, Motor & Business insurance.
A Plan can save you a considerable amount on your current insurance plan (as some members have already seen!) at the same time as raising money for the club

Results
We had lots of great kids participate (and a few of you adults that couldn’t resist) in the game. We also had some fabulous little helpers!

3. Joshua Bartel from U11s with 13.95 seconds (Apologies if the surname is mis-spelt!)
2. Ben Castle from U10s with 12.7 seconds
(Actually, technically speaking Justin Pasqual Reynolds, U50s come in 2nd place with 12.38 seconds… )
And the winner……

1. JOSH REYNOLDS U11s, with an outstanding 7.95 seconds!!!
