Others away at KCS
First one's in - U8 at Cobham C Festival, 3 November. Check it out here
And here's the U10 report from the same festival: here
Thought everyone should hear of a spectacular triumph by the U11s. 94 points for, 7 against. Total domination and a tremendous report to go with it. See http://wmrfc.co.uk/node/959
Fun x 2 planned at the clubhouse this month
Hugely popular Quiz Night on 15 November
It will be a cracking good night as in previous years so please do think about coming along and if you haven't already done so. Would be good to get at least one table per age group. Tickets £10 each (inc food). See posters in clubhouse or social@wmrfc.co.uk. Your age group managers will have details, too.
New Comedy Night on 29 November
Our host will be the excellent Chris Gilbert for the evening. Chris will introduce a really funny guy, Adam Bloom, a veteran of the Edinburgh Festival and Mock the Week. Adam will be followed by Christian Reilly, a guy with a very entertaining blend of musical comedy.
Please note: the comedy will be "adult" in nature. You have been warned! Tickets are £15 a head - 7pm for an 8pm start. Contact Una Deed, Social Secretary at social@wmrfc.co.uk or ask Mik behind the bar for tickets.
In 2015 yes, Rugby World Cup year!, Wimbledon RFC will be celebrating its 150th anniversary. To help pull together our celebrations we need to recruit volunteers to help organise the various events. If you can spare some of your time to help out please get in touch via this dedicated email address: wimbledon2015@gmail.com.
It's a real chance to give back to both the club and the local community. Events already planned are:
• An “Opening Ceremony” in January kicking off the celebrations and bringing together all sections of the Club
• A commemorative match recreating the first match the Club played against Richmond FC
• A community day bring together all sections of the local community to celebrate in the grounds of Beverley Meads
• A Celebratory Ball
Do help if you can - your club needs you! Check out the flyer for more info.
Comprehensive information is on the Cobham website here.
Slightly earlier start (ref and first aider briefings and team registrations all at 0930) and parking is likely to be the challenge we have come to expect at festivals (especially as it has been somewhat wet of late!).
Best of luck if you're chasing silverware to adorn the clubhouse.
The club is planning to start an Inclusive Rugby Tag section this year. Aimed at kids with Special Educational Needs we need your help to get this up and running. Details here: http://wmrfc.co.uk/node/948
From parents' socials to quiz and comedy nights to Christmas parties, all you need to know is here. There's even an skiwear exchange planned.
