Buying Kit through Akuma

Hi

As you know we changed kit supplier this year. The kit is good quality but the process of getting the kit to those who have ordered it is a bit of a struggle. Please bear with the club while we get a proper system in place. In the meantime I wanted to share an email from the club chairman who has been trying to get things to work. It is below. He puts an incredible amount of time into the club so if you are waiting for kit please bear this in mind:

All

I am trying to improve the process around ordering, buying and delivering Kit from Akuma.

I am meeting with them next week.

With one parental interaction I have just had it has become clear to me that parents do not understand anything about this process.

To start within they don't seem to understand that they are dealing with a club volunteer and not Akuma. They do not understand the amount of time and effort of time that has gone into this. I am not asking for a thank just an understanding...

This person complained how when they collected their kit it was mayhem as people helped themselves!! I have spoken about this before. I am still abhorred at that behaviour. Even since then I have walked away from a box of kit to help someone, turned around and 3 people were delving and helping themselves... they were told in no uncertain terms that that was not acceptable.

Anyway, I would like you all to explain in your parent comms that the club is run by a team of volunteers that give up their time to make this club as successful as it has become.. as the club continues to grow the demands on the few are growing to almost breaking point. They can obviously see the hard work you all put in every Sunday, but they are blind to work in the background that gives you the platform to coach....

To that end when they are asked to help, they just say yes! Whether that is parking duty, cakes sales, social events etc etc... even better maybe just ask how they can help....

Of course this mail has been written about the many, not those among the parents and you who are doing their/your bit to help, and to them/you I say thank you.

Minor rant over...

Regards
