Sunday 23 November plans

U7, U9, U10 and U11 at KCS is CANCELLED. No training today.
All other training at home is also CANCELLED due to the overnight and continuing rain. There is standing water on most areas and it doesn't look as if the rain is due to stop.

A decision on the U18 cup game will be made soon. The U18s continue their charge in the National Cup and play Wasps at 12.30pm - if it's on it should be a cracker. The U15 game is also subject to a pitch inspection.

On a positive note...

Don't forget to order your tickets for the comedy night 28th November - don't forget to pay for them if you have reserved them! Book early!!!

A few notices from social secretary Una

Team photos will be taken this Sunday (weather permitting).

Old strips - if you have any old kit lying around the house or rugby boots that have been grown out of, please bring them along and we will hold a second hand sale at the club on Sunday 16 and Sunday 30 November.

Comedy Night is 28 November, doors open at 19:00, show starts at 20:00, tickets £20 from Una on 07703 190554 or e-mail social@wmrfc.co.uk

Sunday 16 November 2014

This week's notice from Dick Dunford starts with a question...

Will it ever stop raining? Let's hope so as we have a busy weekend of rugby at the club.

The minis have training and the the U12s are hosting Old Ruts to a couple of matches - should be good to watch.

U18 start their League charge away to Old Alleyians.
U15 start their campaign at home to Richmond.
U13 A and B start their first league season away to Old Alleyians and Vandals
U14, U17 and U16 are at home for training.

Parking is bound to be an issue as the overflow will be closed and the car park will fill quickly. Use the Preston Road Car park sensibly and we'll get plenty in there - otherwise, car-sharing, walking, cycling, drop off are all ideal alternatives to parking.
If you park in the local roads please ensure that your'e not inconveniencing the residents.

Also to avoid turning the touchlines and pitches into mud baths, please move your training around; parents, please avoid standing in one spot for too long.

Good luck to all the teams playing league matches and have enjoyable sessions for those training.

Sunday 19 October 2014

The minis have their B squads off to Esher for a festival - good luck all. The rest of the minis are training at home in the usual spots.

The U18s continue in the National Colts competition hosting Westcombe Park - KO 12.30 - good luck lads.
U15s host Reeds in a league match KO 11am - Go Wimbledon.
U14s are away at Old Whitgiftians. The U13, U15 & U17s are training at home.

Parking update... Bad news... last week a number of people decided to ignore the roped off parking area and parked on the wet training pitch. The direct consequence is that we now have a lot less parking for the rest of the autumn/winter. Please don't be selfish. This weekend we will have to limit this area even further, perhaps even close it if it keeps raining - please try and encourage your age group parents to car share, cycle or be dropped off. If the car parks are full, please follow the advice in the Parking Policy (there's a link top left on this website, click on the massive P).

Social events for 2014/15 announced

A packed calendar of events has been announced. Quiz nights, comedy nights, Christmas dos, Hogmany, the club's 150th celebrations. All details here: http://wmrfc.co.uk/social

Plus, Harlequins are hosting a Jack Fishwick Rehabilitation Charity Dinner on 4 November 2014. Some of you will know that Jack, a 1st XV player and club physio, suffered a tragic accident whilst playing last season. See more here: http://www.wimbledonrfc.co.uk/1stXVDetail/article/3760095. There are tables of 10 on sale for the full dinner as well as cheaper drink-and-dance tickets, too.

It will be a fantastic event, with Harlequins and England players coming out in support for Jack. If you'd like to go (it's being held in the Harlequin's Members Bar) please get in touch with angela.baker@systech-int.com or look at the attachments to this article. Please support this brilliant event if you can.
