Pitch plan 11 March 2018

Apologies for late notice... should be a terrific day of rugby.

Warriors and Old Emanuel visiting minis plus 4 youth matches: 12s, 13s, 14s, 16s

Girls, 15s and 17s are away, Boys colts are training.

Before we get on to this week's unusually "village" pitch plan, please make sure you do NOT park on any of the roads around the club as they are private roads. If you arrive after 9.30 please park off Copse Hill as per the alternative parking areas shown on our parking policy...

Alternative parking places for WMRFC when on-site parking is full (in order of proximity)
1. Copse Hill between the A238 and Barham Road (park on either side).
2. Beverley Avenue there is a footpath at the end that leads to Hood Road. Walk up and turn into Preston
Road.
3. Burdett Avenue and Cottenham Park Road to the east of Copse Hill road this involves a five minute
walk
4. Oakwood Road there is a footpath at the top corner (Cottenham Park Road) that runs between the
allotments and the Oberon Field. Walk down to Burdett Avenue – approx. a 10 minute walk

Pitch plan (if you make any sense of this... well done!)

All rugby cancelled this Sunday, 4 March 2018

Sadly we have had to cancel the Wimbledon rugby festival this Sunday (and any other training due to take place).

Apologies to all.

Pitch plan 25 February 2018

Pitch plan is below. Couple of cracking youth games today and welcome to Old Alleynians who are visiting for a friendly with the U12s.

Don't ignore this very important message about parking. You must follow our parking policy. Specifically DO NOT BLOCK ACCESS TO RESIDENTS' PROPERTIES OR CAUSE BOTTLENECKS THAT COULD CAUSE AMBULANCES TO BE DELAYED.

Key thing: If you arrive after 9.30am do not enter Barham Road - park on the public roads off Copse Hill.

Finally... PARKING

Thanks to those of you who helped by listening to the marshalls and parked away from the private roads which surround the club. Your efforts are much appreciated. Simply - don't try and park anywhere off Barham Road if you arrive after 9.30. And definitely don't park on the corners of junctions or restrict ambulance/fire engine access.

Quiz night! 9 March 2018

The most popular night of the year is back - Friday 9 March. So please start forming your teams now.

Teams must be between 8 – 10 people. Tickets are £15 per head, including hot food (delicious chilli con carne).

Please can each age group nominate a Team Lead (ideally team managers, nudge, nudge) who will i) collect all the money and ii) book their table behind the bar.

N.B. Individual tickets will not be sold, you must be in a team. No tickets will be sold on the night.

Don't miss out!

All training cancelled on Sunday 21 January 2018

Sadly the rain has mullered the pitches so all training is cancelled. The U16 game is off. At the time of writing (9pm on Sat) I don't know if the U14 game is on or not - please await instructions from your manager (u14@wmrfc.co.uk).

See below details of our half term rugby camp for U7-U14 (and 7s camp for U17-18).

Good news - the adult 1st XV won their third game of the season today against Bury St Edmonds.

For the rest of the season please park considerately...

On the topic of parking... PLEASE READ... the wet weather reduces our on-site parking capacity. This puts pressure on the surrounding roads. We have received far too many complaints from our neighbours complaining about inconsiderate parking - and worse - rude behaviour from our club members. This is not acceptable and parents behaving and parking badly stains our club's reputation.

You must follow our parking policy. Specifically DO NOT BLOCK ACCESS TO RESIDENTS' PROPERTIES OR CAUSE BOTTLENECKS THAT COULD CAUSE AMBULANCES TO BE DELAYED. If you arrive after 9.30am do not enter Barham Road - park on the public roads off Copse Hill.
