Pre-season welcome from Peter Arnold, treasurer

Welcome one and all to another fun packed rugby season with WMRFC. First day of the season: Sunday 7 September 2014, 10am sharp! While we start in 2014, we will end in 2015 which will mark the 150 years since the creation of the club. It is worth remembering that this club was one of the founding members of the RFU and this is something to be proud of as we put on the shirt and reflect on the tradition and philosophy that we stand for. You can read more about the history of the club here.

MEMBERSHIP/SUBS
Everything you need to know about membership rates and forms is here. Worth remembering that as the Club has charitable status a portion of the subs are paid as a form of donation. There will be a subs desk at the clubhouse for the first four Sundays of the season: 7, 14, 21 and 28 September 2014. Definitely the easiest way to settle your subs!

CHILD PROTECTION
For coaches and managers (and other volunteers) Georgina will also be running a DBS (was CRB) clinic for people whose certificates have expired or if you don't have one. Everyone over 16 regularly involved in training and working with our kids needs a valid DBS check. Please support Georgina in this. Contact her at childprot@wmrfc.co.uk and her page is: http://wmrfc.co.uk/childprot.

COURSES
During the season we will also be running various rugby-related courses that we would encourage coaching parents to join. On offer will be First Aid courses, Coaching courses and Referring courses. There will be flyers on the subs desk with the dates, names of the organiser and their contact details. Three courses are already announced: Scrum Factory, Refereeing Children Level 1 and First Aid - see http://wmrfc.co.uk/coaching-public and get booked on them.

PARKING
Please remember that the club is in the middle of a residential area and some of the roads in the area are private roads. Our parking policy tells you where to - and where not to - park. Your help in respecting our neighbours access is appreciated.

VOLUNTEERS ALWAYS WELCOME
As you can see there has already been a lot of preparation work done by many volunteers. We always need more, especially as we get bigger! So please step forward if you would like to help in any way. Players and volunteers are the lifeblood of this rugby club. The other important ingredient is the subs that help pay for this infrastructure, so please help us by paying them as soon as possible.

Have a great season and I look forward to seeing you all from the 7th September 2014. Training starts 10am sharp.
